Privacy policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how RBURG SERVICES LLC ("RBURG", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through www.rburgservicesllc.online, by phone or email, and in the course of quoting and running freight shipments.

It applies to visitors to this website, people who request quotes, and the contacts our customers give us at pickup and delivery sites. It does not apply to the privacy practices of any third-party website we link to.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

• Contact details — name, company, email address, phone number, and postal or site addresses.
• Shipment details — pickup and delivery locations, commodity description, weight, dimensions, piece count, declared value, dates and special handling instructions.
• Correspondence — the content of emails, quote-form submissions and call notes.
• Billing details — invoicing contacts, purchase-order numbers and payment references. We do not store full card numbers on our systems; card payments are handled by our payment processor.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type and screen size.
• Usage data — pages viewed, referring page, time on site and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Cookie identifiers, as described in section 4.

2.3 Information from other sources

Where a freight broker or a customer tenders a load, they may give us the contact details of the shipper, consignee or site personnel. We use those details only to complete that shipment.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information — such as health, biometric or government identification data — through this website, and you should not send it to us.

3. How we use it

• To prepare quotes and respond to enquiries.
• To arrange, dispatch, track, deliver and document shipments.
• To issue invoices, take payment and manage accounts.
• To handle cargo claims, disputes and insurance matters.
• To meet legal, regulatory, tax and DOT/FMCSA record-keeping obligations.
• To protect the security and integrity of our systems and prevent fraud.
• To improve our website and service — for example, by seeing which pages get used.
• To send service updates about a shipment you have booked.

We send marketing email only where you have asked for it. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not stop operational messages about a live shipment.

4. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. We use them to keep the site working correctly and to understand aggregate usage. Broadly they fall into two groups:

• Essential cookies — needed for the site to function and for security. These cannot be switched off through our site.
• Analytics cookies — used to count visits and see which pages are useful, in aggregate. If we run a third-party analytics service, that provider processes the data on our behalf under its own terms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "do not track" signal. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of this site behave. This site does not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run your shipment or where the law requires it:

• Drivers and operations staff — the people physically handling your freight.
• Partner carriers and agents — where a portion of a movement is interlined, under confidentiality obligations.
• Service providers — web hosting, email, dispatch and tracking software, accounting and payment processing, each acting on our instructions.
• Insurers, claims adjusters and legal advisers — where a claim or dispute arises.
• Government and regulatory bodies — where required by law, subpoena, court order or a lawful regulatory request.
• A successor entity — if our business is sold or merged, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

6. We do not sell your data

RBURG SERVICES LLC does not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Contact details you give us for a quote are used to quote and run your freight — nothing else.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and then for as long as the law requires. In practice:

• Quote requests that do not lead to a booking — up to 24 months.
• Shipment records, bills of lading and PODs — at least 3 years, in line with federal record-keeping rules.
• Accounting and tax records — at least 7 years.
• Claim files — for the life of the claim plus any applicable limitation period.
• Website analytics — in aggregate or anonymised form, typically up to 26 months.

When a retention period ends, we delete the information or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the size of our business — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this website, access controls that limit staff to the data their role requires, and vetted service providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by applicable law.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete information, subject to records we must legally keep.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Opt out of marketing email at any time.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email info@rburgservicesllc.online with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity before acting, and we respond within 45 days — or tell you if we need longer.

10. California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the rights described in section 9, plus the right to know the categories of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties we disclose to. Those categories are set out in sections 2, 3 and 5 of this policy.

We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the preceding twelve months. You may use an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of that authorisation.

11. Children's privacy

This is a business-to-business freight website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

This website links to third-party services, including an embedded map and web font provider. Those services have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies or log requests. We do not control them and are not responsible for their practices.

13. Visitors outside the USA

We operate in the United States and our systems and service providers are located there. If you access this site or send us information from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your home country.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, technology or the law change. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
